Before You Dream: A Lullaby for the Quiet Hours
There’s a moment each night—just before sleep arrives—when the world softens. The lights dim, the mind loosens its grip, and the heart begins to drift toward rest. Before You Dream was written for that fragile, luminous space.
This lullaby grew out of a simple intention: to offer listeners a gentle place to land. No grand gestures, no dramatic turns—just a slow unfolding of notes that feel like a hand on the shoulder, a soft breath, a quiet reassurance that it’s safe to let go.
At its core, Before You Dream is built on stillness. The melody moves with the ease of a whispered promise, circling back on itself like a rocking chair in a darkened room. The harmonies stay close, warm, and familiar, creating a sense of being held. Nothing rushes. Nothing demands. The music simply invites you to settle into the moment you’re already in.
I wrote this piece imagining someone listening with the lights low, maybe after a long day, maybe while tucking a child into bed, maybe while trying to find a little peace of their own. It’s a lullaby not just for children, but for anyone who needs a soft landing at the end of the day.
If you let it, the music becomes a quiet companion—guiding you gently toward rest, toward stillness, toward the dreams waiting just beyond the edge of consciousness.
Before You Dream is my small offering to the night: a reminder that even in the quietest hours, beauty can rise like a slow, steady breath.
