Christmas In My Heart — A Quiet Moment of Light
There are songs that arrive suddenly, as if they’ve been waiting just outside the door. Christmas In My Heart was one of them. I composed it on March 9, 2023, long before the snow, long before the lights returned to the windows. Yet even in early spring, the melody carried the warmth and stillness of December.
This piece became both a single and part of my album The Joy of Christmas, but at its core, it’s simply a moment—an invitation to pause, breathe, and feel the quiet glow that the season brings.
The Heart of the Piece
What I love most about this composition is its gentle harmonic shimmer. The chords open slowly, almost like candlelight spreading across a dark room. Nothing rushes. Nothing demands. It’s a piece that leans into simplicity, trusting that a single melody—played softly and honestly—can hold more meaning than anything ornate.
My hope is that as you listen, you feel a sense of warmth rising from within. Not the loud, glittering kind of holiday joy, but the quieter one: the joy that comes from gratitude, memory, and the presence of those we love.
Why I Wrote It
Every year, I return to the same question: What does Christmas feel like at its deepest level?
For me, it’s a blend of stillness and wonder. A sense of being held. A reminder that even in the coldest season, light finds its way back.
Christmas In My Heart is my attempt to capture that feeling in sound.
A Song for Your December Moments
Whether you’re decorating the tree, watching snow fall, or simply taking a moment to rest, I hope this piece brings you a sense of peace. Let it be a companion to your quiet evenings and a gentle reminder of the beauty that lives inside the season.
Thank you for listening, and for letting my music be part of your winter.
